Bladder
The urinary bladder is a complex muscular bag that is intended to hold urine, then expel urine out through the urethra with voiding. It's ability to do so requires complex integrated control by the bladder centers in the brain via various components of the nervous system. We take its function for granted until things go wrong!
Your urologist helps people who have lost the normal ability to either hold or empty their bladder. He will run tests necessary to do so, in order to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Recurrent bladder infections is another bladder condition we commonly see.
Finally, bladder cancer is also commonly seen in urology.
